The World's First NFC Card Reader compliant to CCID Standard

Advanced Card Systems Ltd, Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry, launches the world's First NFC card reader compliant to CCID standard - ACR122 NFC contactless smart card reader.

As part of commitment to quality, the ACR122 is specially developed for the 13.56MHz contactless smart card (RFID) technology, supporting not only Mifare® memory cards, ISO-14443 type A and B cards but also NFC and FeliCa contactless technologies. Its proximity operating distance is up to 5 cm, depending on the types of contactless tag in use. An RF boaster can be added on customization requests to extend the distance.

Thanks to the CCID compliance, the ACR122 NFC reader is ideal for both secure personal identity verification and online micro-payment transactions. Typical applications of the ACR122 NFC reader include access control, e-payment, mobile payment, mobile ticketing for events and mass transit, toll road fare collection, network authentication, and logistics and supply chain management. The ACR122 NFC reader is also available in module form for easy integration into bigger machines, like POS terminals, ticket gate and vending machines.

With the ACR122 NFC reader, the existing service providers of systems using FeliCa cards can create new applications more readily. Currently, one of the most common applications for FeliCa contacless technology is automatic fare collection system, like those by Octopus in Hong Kong, EZ Link in Singapore and Pasmo in Japan.
